Humanization knowledge of undergraduate nursing students.

Objective: identify the senses and practices representative of humanization in the training of undergraduate nursing students. Method: a qualitative study, supported on the national policy of humanization and the concept of social representation. An interview was conducted with 40 undergraduate nursing students from a public institution. ALCESTE software was used for lexical content analysis. Results: the sense of humanization is built on the practice and disciplines of social and human sciences. The coordination between theory and practice is representative of humanization, but does not take place in learning experiences. The professor’s participation and teamwork are elements that infl uence humanization. Conclusion: humanization should be reinforced in the training of undergraduate nursing students, using learning-teaching strategies and experiences that make sense to students, including alliances between theory and practice, learning and service, research and care.
